SEOUL MARINA CLUB
A range of FBT systems have been installed into the third biggest marina in South Korea, named Seoul Marina Club & Yacht, which is located in Yeouido beside the Korean Parliament. Included within are two restaurants, a tapas bar, a convention hall and outdoor facilities, all of which have now benefitted from audio systems designed and supplied by FBT distributor AD&C International.
Sometimes described as the first ‘authentic’ marina facility within Korea, Seoul Marina can accommodate up to 90 yachts, though it current houses 45. Its three-storey central building floats on the Han river, supported by pillars and automatically stabilised by a central computer system. The facility has been praised by Ryu Gyeong-gi, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Hangang Project Headquarters, as ‘opening a new era of water sports in the Han River’.
AD&C International’s brief in approaching each individual part of the project was that all of the installed audio systems should be as discrete as possible while remaining highly efficient.
The completed install comprises six FBT Mitus 206LA line array elements within the Convention Hall, arrayed three per-side, with two Mitus 212FSA double 12-inch subs providing low end. Elsewhere, the tapas bar boasts four Mitus 112A active 12-inch enclosures plus four 118SA 18-inch subs for front of house sound, while on-stage monitoring is via six 210MA monitors. Finally, eight FBT GS 20/T IP66-rated outdoor loudspeakers are positioned on the Marina’s external decking.
‘It’s a very warm environment available to those who love sailing and boating at reasonable prices,’ explained FBT export manager Roberto Mataloni. ‘The location is truly nice, near the Korean Parliament, and there are plenty of nearby amenities, such as an outdoor amphitheatre for summer events.
‘I think our distributor AD&C International has struck a very important achievement by installing FBT Mitus systems and FBT outdoor speakers into this venue – it is very prestigious in Korean society and is highly valued in the mindset of the Korean market.
